FAQ

FAQ - FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q1: HOW DO I PLAY THESE FILES?
The Matroska (MKV/MKA) format is quite new. So don't be shocked at seeing this format in use. If you have your basic set of codecs to play the standard .avi files then playing .mkv files is no different. If you still have no clue then keep reading:

- First off you'll need some codecs that willl allow your computer to understand what its dealing with. There are two popular packs available on the internet. "K-Lite Codec Pack" OR "Combined Community Codec Pack".

- After you've installed any ONE of those, yyou should already be able to play .mkv files in Windows Media Player. But if you want added features such as subtitles, chapters etc then I'd recommend using third party players such as GOM PLAYER.

STAY AWAY FROM "VLC PLAYER". THE PLAYER SUFERS FROM A LOSS IN FRAMES EVERY FEW SECONDS IN SOME OF THESE RIPS ON TOP OF THIS YOU WON'T EXPERIENCE THE BEST QUALITY.

Q2: WHAT SOFTWARE DO YOU USE TO ENCODE?
Its a free software known as "MeGUI" which is essentially your one stop solution for x264 encoding. Its a free tool and can be found by doing a simple google.

Q3: I'M GETTING THE GREEN LINE THING. IS THERE A FIX?
[b][size=18]The problem can occur due to either a problem with your codecs, the player, or if you have more than one codec pack installed.

What you have to do is, uninstall all the codec packs and players from your computer and install only one universal codec pack. K-Lite or CCCP should do the trick, do not install more than one pack. If it still doesn't work, try switching your player. I.E. Switch over to GOM Player or try Windows Media Player.

I WANT TO PUT THIS ONTO MY PSP, iPOD, CELL PHONE. HOW DO I DO SO?

First off, you will have to download "Combined Community Codec Pack", it is not necessary if you have all the codecs needed to play .mkv files.

Second, you will have to download "Allok 3GP PSP MP4 iPod Video Converter". I have tested this software myself, its a handy little tool which performs very well and is extremely user friendly, so this is what I recommend.

Information

First of all let me introduce to yu all what this blog purpose:
  1. To provide yu all the High Quality Movies in Small Size (300MB-600MB)
  2. To easily your download. (for Non-RapidShare Users, people with slow internet connection and low bandwidth users!)
  3. To get the excatly same quality of DVDrip which is normally 700MB.
  4. All movies are compressed using the x264 codec which is far superior to XViD
  5. The output format is in .mkv (MatRoska)
  6. The sources of the movies can range from 1080p && 720p Rips/HD-Rips/DVDRips to DVDSCR/R5 (Depending on when the movies were releases)

INFORMATION

Matroska (.mkv)

Matroska's MKV "universal" Container is described by its developers as "the extensible open standard Audio/Video Container." This translates to a multimedia Container designed to support practically any type of video or audio stream you might care to use. MKV stands for Matroska Video. The project itself is simply called Matroska.

Rather than being designed around a particular format's capabilities, Matroska's container simply provides a framework to mux and interact with audio, video, and even subtitle streams. Video commonly found in the Matroska container includes RealVideo, XviD, and more recently AVC. Audio ranges from Vorbis (OGG) to MP3 or even the original AC-3 audio from a DVD. Matroska files will sometimes have an extension of .MKA instead, indicating an audio only file - typically encoded in the Vorbis format.

How to play MKV files:
1. Player: GOM Player, Zoom Player, KMPlayer
2. Use CCCP (Codec Pack) [DOWNLOAD]

HOW THE SIZE ARE DETERMINED:

90MINS (+/- 10MINS) = 300MB
120MINS (+/- 10MINS) = 400MB

HDRIPS, DVDRIPS & R5/DVDSCR RIPS EXPLAINED:

-HDRips: These look exactly and in some casees better than 700MB XViD rips (I.E. aXXo or DiAMOND). Most of the HDRips posted at the moment look much better than an XViD rip.

-DVDRips: These tend have a lower quality than HDRips as the source is not High Definition, but they do manage to look identical to the 700MB XViD but the quality is slightly lower than what you would see in an XViD release.

-R5/DVDSCR/WORKPRINT Rips: These rips are esssentially reencoded using the R5/DVDSCR release as the source, as such the quality is slightly lower than the original release but yet looks kickass for the size. I normally tend to mention if the outcome looks bad or if the source is of bad quality.
